Madison, WI- Wednesday, March 7 the 11th Annual HealthWatch Wisconsin Conference titled, “The Healthcare Coverage Quest: The Road to Reimbursements” will convene in Madison. This is the 11th year gathering advocates, health care providers, and health policy experts from across Wisconsin to discuss access to health care coverage and services in Wisconsin, especially for low-income, underserved consumers.

The HealthWatch Wisconsin Conference kicks off March 7 at 1pm at the Madison Masonic Center (301 Wisconsin Ave., Madison), and continues on Thursday, March 8 at 9am with a panel of Wisconsin Legislators followed by a panel of Democratic Candidates for Governor.

Mid-day Thursday, HealthWatch will recognize those doing outstanding work in the community. Our slate of honorees includes:

  • Advocate of the Year: Kathy Judd, Dane County Economic Support
  • Outreach Effort of the Year: Liz Hecht, Family Voices of Wisconsin
  • Media Effort of the Year: Timothy Jost, Health Affairs Blog

The award ceremony begins at noon at the conference location.

The afternoon includes workshop sessions on topics like private health insurance, coverage for immigrant populations, the Birth Tax, patient rights and responsibilities when discharging to long term care, care and coverage coordination for children with special health care needs, Medicaid and jail health issues for incarcerated individuals, behavioral health coverage issues, and more.
