County Materials Corp. is a Wisconsin company working on Phase 1 Development for Foxconn
MARATHON – Governor Scott Walker highlighted the statewide reach and benefits of Foxconn’s $10 billion investment in Wisconsin today by joining County Materials Corp. in Marathon. County Materials is producing more than five miles of concrete piping for Foxconn’s Mount Pleasant facility and is a Wisconsin company working on the Phase 1 site development.
“The benefits of Foxconn are reaching every corner of the state,” said Governor Walker. “County Materials right here in North Central Wisconsin creates high-quality concrete and construction products that will be used to build Foxconn’s state-of-the-art manufacturing campus. I thank County Materials for participating in this historic project along with Foxconn, Gilbane Building Company, M+W Group, and Hoffman Construction Co., for putting Wisconsin first.”
In May, Governor Walker joined Foxconn, Gilbane Building Company, and M+W Group for their announcement of $100 million in contracts for Wisconsin subcontractors and suppliers which created a custom economic inclusion and diversity plan to place Wisconsin first in the development and building of their facility in southeastern Wisconsin.

County Materials Corp. is a family-owned business that has called Wisconsin home since 1946. County Materials is supplying Gilbane by producing concrete reinforced pipe for the Foxconn project. The Marathon facility is distributing the first four truckloads of 60-inch pipe and the remaining pipe will come from their Madison and Green Bay facilities. In total, County Materials Corp. is producing approximately five miles of concrete pipe.

With up to 13,000 jobs created directly, 22,000 jobs created indirectly, 10,000 construction jobs, roughly $1.4 billion spent annually working with other Wisconsin businesses, and a capital investment up to $10 billion, it is clear Foxconn’s investment in Wisconsin is by far the state’s largest economic development project and is the largest corporate attraction project in U.S. history, as measured by jobs.
Once fully operational, Foxconn is expected to make $4.26 billion in supplier purchases annually, about one-third of which will be sourced in Wisconsin. The project is expected to have at least a $7 billion annual economic impact on the state and generate between $116-$157 million in state tax revenues annually, once fully operational.
