MILWAUKEE – Governor Scott Walker today honored those who lost their lives on September 11, 2001 at the 9/11 Remembrance Ceremony held at the Milwaukee County War Memorial. The Governor was joined by community leaders, law enforcement, and fire officials.
“The American people showed the world what it means to be resilient, brave, and self-less on this day 17 years ago,” said Governor Walker “Today is a day to honor the lives that were tragically taken, and those who showed absolute courage running towards danger rather than away as first responders, members of our military, and the men and women on Flight 93 who prevented an additional attack on our nation—we are forever grateful and indebted to them for their sacrifice. Our nation will never forget what happened on this day, as it will forever stands in our nation’s history as a day we mourned, but even more so as a day when the United States of America rose together as a stronger and more unified nation.”
