Taps Wisconsin-based Hammes Company to support development of master plan for this transformational project

Milwaukee, WI – Foxconn Technology Group (Foxconn) today announced that it has selected Hammes Company as the master planner for the Wisconn Valley Science and Technology Park (WVSTP) in Racine County, Wisconsin.  Hammes Company will serve as Foxconn’s lead partner in planning infrastructure and other development activities for the new project.  As part of that initiative, Foxconn will also invite other developers to participate in the Park development.

“We are pleased to appoint Hammes Company to support the development of the master plan for our campus, which will positively change the face of advanced manufacturing in Wisconsin.  The Wisconn Valley Science and Technology Park will also be home to our supply chain partners and many of the world’s most innovative start-ups and leading global companies looking to leverage the opportunities presented by Wisconn Valley and the vibrant AI 8K+5G ecosystem that Foxconn is creating,” said Louis Woo, Special Assistant to Foxconn Founder and CEO Terry Gou. “Hammes Company, with its deep roots in Wisconsin and understanding of the state’s unique competitive advantages as an investment location, is an ideal partner for Foxconn in realizing many aspects of our vision for this important project and our ‘Wisconsin First’ commitment to contribute to the state’s attractiveness as a global high-tech hub.”

Jon Hammes, Founder & CEO, Hammes Company, said, “Foxconn is recognized around the world for its excellence as a leading global manufacturing and technology services provider, and we are delighted to be associated with such an exciting project, which will have a transformational impact on Wisconsin.  We are pleased to partner with Foxconn in our planning, strategic advisory and development related services roles, utilizing our experience and knowledge to provide for a successful expansion of Foxconn’s geographic footprint in the United States, as well as the establishment of Wisconsin’s most innovative campus.”

With a site area of approximately 2,900 acres, or the size of about 2,200 football fields, the WVSTP is poised to become one of the largest and most significant business park projects in North America.  Its aim is to foster technology investment and scientific innovation that go beyond Wisconsin and the Upper Midwest, to eventually reach all parts of the United States, by drawing local and regional talent and leveraging best practices and Foxconn’s expertise and network globally to create a robust AI 8K+5G ecosystem.  WVSTP will serve a catalytic role in the research and development of advanced manufacturing processes and technologies in education, medical and healthcare, entertainment and sports, security, and smart community, among many others.

Alan Yeung, Foxconn Director of U.S. Strategic Initiatives and President of FEWI Development Corporation, said, “Hammes Company is one of the most trusted providers of real estate solutions in the United States. The WVSTP will attract leading vertical industry leaders and high-tech companies, higher education institutions and research institutes to establish their presence in Wisconn Valley.  Our goal is to establish the Park as a key base for scientific and technology cooperation between the U.S. and Asia, where technical talent and entrepreneurs in America can meet investors and leading technologists from Japan, China and elsewhere from Asia.”

David Connolly, Partner & Senior Vice President, Hammes Company, said, “We are ready to launch our master planning project. Hammes Company looks forward to working with Foxconn and state and local officials to bring this state-of-the-art project to life.  We are confident that the campus will provide a vibrant environment for innovation and be a magnet for top tech industry talent from Wisconsin and throughout the country.”

This significant partnership marks another major milestone in Foxconn’s “Wisconsin First” commitment.  Foxconn’s Wisconn Valley Science and Technology Park will create 13,000 jobs in Wisconsin and thousands more jobs through construction and the extensive supply chain supporting this project.  The campus will serve as the foundation for the robust AI 8K+5G ecosystem that Foxconn is building in Wisconsin and in the United States, and promote research and development in advanced technologies and next-generation hardware and solutions as part of that ecosystem.
