Evers campaign: Statement on former DOT Secretary Mark Gottlieb’s comments to Journal Sentinel

Today, in an article published in the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, Governor Scott Walker’s former Department of Transportation Secretary, Mark Gottlieb, slammed Walker for being “increasingly inaccurate” about Wisconsin’s state highway system. Gottlieb, a Republican, is the third former Walker secretary to publicly criticize Walker’s tenure in recent months. Tony Evers released the following statement responding to Gottlieb’s comments:

“Scott Walker had eight years of opportunities to make good on the promises he’s made to the people of Wisconsin. But today, more and more Republicans who’ve worked directly with Walker are coming out of the woodwork to say, ‘Enough is enough.’ Enough broken promises, enough putting special interests and personal ambitions before the people of Wisconsin, and enough politicizing the most important issues facing our state.

The bottom line here is that people are finally starting to realize that Scott Walkr has become a typical, career politician, and he’s not the same person he was when he was first elected governor eight years ago. The message from Wisconsin is loud and clear: Scott Walker’s had his chance. It’s time for change.”
