Tony’s plan would cut taxes by 10% for everyone making up to $100,000 a year and families making up to $150,000 a year

Madison, WI — Today, Tony Evers’ campaign released a new ad focusing on his plan to cut taxes for middle class families in Wisconsin by 10%. Tony’s plan would provide a tax cut to everyone making up to $100,000 a year and to families making up to $150,000 a year, cutting taxes for more than 80% of Wisconsin filers.

“While Scott Walker has rewarded his donors and special interests, Tony Evers is committed to helping Wisconsin’s working families,” said Evers campaign manager Maggie Gau. “Under Tony’s plan, more than 80% of tax filers will receive a tax cut, providing real relief to millions of Wisconsin working and middle class families. It’s time for a change in Wisconsin, starting with a tax code that puts the middle class first.”

Walker’s corporate giveaway provides nearly 80% of its benefits to those making more than $1 million a year. Just last year, 11 filers in Wisconsin making more than $30 million a year were projected to be eligible for $22 million in tax breaks, while the average tax cut for filers making under $300,000 a year was just $5. Evers plan phases out the this tax cut after the first $300,000 of income.
