MADISON – With one of the first labor endorsements in the Democratic primary for Governor, State Superintendent Tony Evers has been endorsed by the Wisconsin Postal Workers Union Executive Board.

“I’ve always believed an honest day’s work, equals an honest day’s pay. I believe we must treat our workers with respect and compassion. They deserve to have a seat and a voice at the table, not simply used by politicians to pit Wisconsinites against each other to rack up cheap political points. I will always side with Wisconsin’s workers and I am honored to have the support of the Wisconsin Postal Workers Union,” Evers said.

Evers has already earned the endorsement of US Senator Herb Kohl, Lt. Governor Barbara Lawton, Congressman Steve Kagen, MD., State Sen. Mark Miller, State Rep. Sondy Pope, former State Rep. Mandy Wright, former State Rep. Bob Turner, former State Sen. John Lehman, former State Rep. Fred Clark and former State Rep. Spencer Black.

Tony Evers won three statewide elections as State Superintendent of Public Instruction, winning 70 of 72 counties in his last election with 70 percent of the vote. Evers has been educating our kids his entire career as a science teacher, high school principal and school district superintendent. As State Superintendent, Evers is responsible for over 70,000 educators and 860,000 students. Originally from Plymouth, Evers is proud to be the father of three children and six grandchildren, raising his family in Baraboo, Tomah, Oakfield, Omro, Oshkosh and Verona.
