I’d like to congratulate Tony Evers, Mandela Barnes, Josh Kaul, Tammy Baldwin, Doug La Follette, and Sarah Godlewski for their hard fought victories. I am also very proud that our City’s voter turnout appears to have been a major factor in putting these candidates over the top.
The election results also create hope for a better relationship between the City of Milwaukee and state policy makers in Madison. As Wisconsin’s economic engine, the City of Milwaukee has long been a net contributor to state coffers; therefore, the time has come for the City to be treated equally and have its seat at the table.
I realize official concessions still need to be made from the incumbents. In the meantime, I look forward to working for the betterment of Milwaukee and Wisconsin with our newly elected leaders.
