Kathleen Vinehout, wrote a letter defending the character of a man found guilty of possessing child pornography. Wisconsin families deserve an apology from Sen. Vinehout for her poor judgement as a public official, and her Democrat opponents need to disavow her actions.

From the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel: State Sen. Kathleen Vinehout, who announced her run for governor this week, wrote a character reference letter in 2015 for a legislative attorney after he was charged with possessing child pornography.
From the Associated Press: Vinehout, a state senator from Alma, wrote the letter in 2015 on behalf of David L. Lovell, who was convicted this June on five counts of child porn possession and sentenced to concurrent three-year prison terms on each count. Vinehout told the Cap Times in a story publishedThursday that people won’t find anything objectionable in the letter she wrote.

She used similar language in the 2015 letter, though she added the allegations were “completely inconsistent with the skilled expert,” she worked with for eight years, praised his “extraordinary diplomatic skills,” and said he had taken responsibility for his actions and has “deep remorse.”
