[Madison, WI]— Washington insider U.S. Rep. Ron Kind’s short-lived consideration to seek his party’s nomination for governor has come to an end, at a time when his own support in the 3rd District is in question. Republican Party of Wisconsin Executive Director Mark Morgan released the following statement on Congressman Kind, who faces re-election in a district that is newly targeted by the National Republican Congressional Committee after President Donald Trump carried it in 2016:

“On top of clearly being intimidated by Gov. Walker’s strong record of moving Wisconsin forward, Congressman Kind has obviously come to the realization that his track record as a long-time Washington insider who has accomplished little and only offered empty rhetoric would not sit well with Wisconsin voters. Congressman Kind has plenty to worry about in his own backyard with declining support and his failure to stand up for veterans at Tomah dogging him.”
