Madison, WI— News is breaking today that Senator Tammy Baldwin supports the Washington status quo more than any other United States senator whose state voted for President Donald Trump. Highlighted in The Capital Times, Senator Baldwin has aligned herself with the far-left wing of her party, opposing 10 of President Trump’s cabinet nominees and rejecting real reforms in Washington.
“After nearly 20 years in Washington, Senator Baldwin is radically out of touch with Wisconsin voters,” said Alec Zimmerman, spokesman for the Republican Party of Wisconsin. “Instead of fighting for hardworking Wisconsin families, Senator Baldwin has aligned herself with the far-left wing of her party to defend liberal special interests and the Washington status quo.”
As The Capital Times reports this morning, Senator Baldwin’s opposition includes 9 votes against cabinet nominees as well as a vote against a waiver that qualified General James Mattis to serve as Secretary of Defense. The ten-vote total puts her opposition at a higher rate than any other senator seeking reelection in a red state during 2018.
