[Madison, WI]— The Republican Party of Wisconsin filed a formal complaint with the Wisconsin Ethics Commission today against Andy Gronik regarding recent revelations that he spent money on a statewide poll in his bid for governor without filing as a candidate. Gronik, who has founded a shady organization called Stage W in advance of his statewide run, acknowledged the poll in an interview with the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, despite having no campaign committee legally designated to pay for such services.
“Andy Gronik owes ‘Wisconsinians’ an explanation for why he’s already started his bid for governor like an out-of-touch con artist,” said Mark Morgan, Executive Director for the Republican Party of Wisconsin.  “By intentionally circumventing public scrutiny and the law with this secret poll — on top of operating a shadowy organization like Stage W — he is showing right out of the gate that hard-working Wisconsin families can’t trust him, and that Democrats are in even greater disarray than we thought.”
In addition to referring to “Wisconsinites” as “Wisconsinians,” several policy questions were asked during the poll as well as questions directly related to Gronik’s chances against other presumptive Democrat candidates.
