Madison, Wisconsin – Wisconsin Property Taxpayers, Inc. issued the following statement this morning regarding the legislature’s passage of Assembly Bills 479 and 480 during Tuesday’s sessions:
“Yesterday, the state legislature stood alongside property owners by providing clarity in Wisconsin law, and ensuring that individuals have the right to make decisions regarding their property without meaningless bureaucratic encumbrance
“Our organization and its members are particularly thankful that homeowners will no longer be required to allow strangers into their homes for fear of increased property taxes, and additionally, that homeowners will be given a true avenue for repealing faulty and erroneous assessments on their properties.
“Thank you to Sen. Tiffany, Sen. Craig, Rep. Jarchow, and Rep. Brooks for your work in championing these policies, and for again making property taxpayers a priority. We very much look forward to these bills receiving Governor Walker’s signature.”
