Holds events in every corner of the state telling voters “there’s more to be done”
[Madison, Wis.] – Governor Scott Walker completed his statewide tour to move Wisconsin forward on Wednesday, wrapping up four days of telling thousands of voters in every corner of Wisconsin as he announced his re-election campaign that “there’s more to be done.”
“All across Wisconsin, hard-working families know what our bold reforms have done for them – and they’re excited to see what’s next, because there’s more to be done,” Gov. Walker said. “With more people working than ever before, taxes down, and historic investments in our classrooms, now is the time to keep fighting to move Wisconsin forward, and Lt. Gov. Kleefisch and I are ready.”
Over the course of four days, Gov. Walker, Lt. Gov. Kleefisch, and the governor’s family traveled to every corner of Wisconsin, including Waukesha, La Crosse, Eau Claire, Wausau, Rhinelander, Green Bay, Appleton, Oshkosh, Fond du Lac, Sheboygan, Janesville, Hudson, Superior, Platteville, and other communities in between.

From News 8000 in La Crosse: “He touched on accomplishments his administration has made, including creating jobs, improving education funding, and reducing state taxes. Despite the advances, Walker focused on the need to continue the state’s forward momentum. ‘I am more optimistic about the future of this state than I have been at any point in my lifetime. I hope you’re proud of the work that we’ve done together cause I’m proud of what this state has accomplished and I know there’s more to come, there’s more work to be done,’ said Walker.”
From Wisconsin Public Radio in Wausau: “Walker kicked off his tour at a metal fabricating plant in Rothschild, near Wausau. Speaking to about 150 supporters exactly one year before the 2018 election, Walker predicted it would not be an easy campaign. He said millions of dollars of what he called ‘special interest money’ would be spent to defeat him. ‘We took the power out of the hands of the big government special interests and put it firmly in the hands of the hard working taxpayers of this state, and given the chance I’ll do it again and again and again,’ Walker said.”
From WJFW in Rhinelander: “Voters will decide whether to re-elect him exactly one year from Monday’s Rhinelander campaign kickoff event. ‘Rebecca Kleefisch and I are asking for your help to have four more years as your governor and lieutenant governor to move Wisconsin forward,’ Walker told supporters at CrossTrac forestry equipment. ‘I believe there is more work to be done in the future. Most importantly, I believe that our best days are yet to come. With your help, we’re going to move Wisconsin forward.’”
From The Janesville Gazette: “[Local resident Terry McCann] looks forward to Foxconn coming to Wisconsin, comparing it to Janesville’s General Motors plant. He said the tech giant should have a major impact across the state, and he hopes it attracts other businesses. ‘We now have, in this state, more people employed than we ever had in the history of the state of Wisconsin,’ Walker said.”
From the Duluth News Tribune: “Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker stopped at Exodus Machines in Superior on Wednesday during the final leg of his re-election bid tour. ‘I am more optimistic about the state than at any time in my life,’ he told the crowd, asking them for another four years in office. Walker stressed workforce gains and tax savings in the state during his seven years of leadership. ‘From one end of the state to the other, crisscrossing the state, we’re seeing exciting things happening,’ Walker said. “We’re moving Wisconsin forward…’”
