sanctuary before the birth of Jesus Christ. The group will travel on a bus
to the offices of Senator Johnson, Senator Baldwin, Congresswoman Moore,
and Speaker Paul Ryan asking for sanctuary for Dreamers in their fight for
the Dream Act–legislation that would allow for undocumented youth to
pursue citizenship and would protect them from deportation. Testimony will
include a Dreamer and the delivery of a letter with our demand that they
vote against the continuing resolution bill unless it includes the Dream
Act. Supporters will have candles, songs and a musician with the theme of
sanctuary for Dreamers.

WHY: The purpose of this action is to put pressure on representatives of
the Wisconsin senate and congress to vote “no” on the budget unless a clean
Dream Act is included because a budget that does not include a Dream Act is
a budget to deport dreamers. This action will be a final effort to push
Congress to do the right thing and keep families together before they go
home to their families for the holidays. “the future of thousands are in
the hands of our elected officials we need them to take a stand and see the
Dream Act passed” Said Yarlie Suarez a 17 year old YES leader and Junior at
Riverside High School in Milwaukee. Ms. Suarez is also an undocumented
youth that was preparing to apply for the Obama era Deferred Action for
Childhood Arrival or DACA program until the Trump administration canceled
accepting any new applicants in preparation for terminating the program in
March of 2018. “Not know what my future looks like is frustrating. All my
friends have life after high set for them, but I am stuck. Ending DACA
stripped me of my basic rights to work, to drive and to identify myself,
and my to access high education. ” Said Suarez
