WASHINGTON — U.S. Senators Ron Johnson and Tammy Baldwin announced their agreement to establish a Wisconsin U.S. Marshals Service nominating commission. The commission will advise the senators on the nomination of individuals to fill two positions: those of the U.S. marshals for the eastern and western districts of Wisconsin.

The commission shall consist of four Wisconsinites who are members of the Wisconsin law enforcement community, representing the Badger State Sheriffs’ Association, Wisconsin Police Executive Group, Wisconsin Chiefs of Police Association, and the Wisconsin Sheriffs and Deputy Sheriffs Association.

Wisconsin Attorney General Brad Schimel and the Wisconsin Department of Justice are assisting in administering the application process. The commission is seeking applications for the two marshal positions, and resumes can be emailed to [email protected]. Applications must be received by 5 p.m. CDT on Monday, Aug. 14, 2017.

Wisconsin U.S. Marshals Service nominating commission members

Christopher Domagalski is the president of the Wisconsin Chiefs of Police Association and is the chief of police for the City of Sheboygan. A graduate of Concordia University, PERF’s Senior Management Institute for Police, and the FBI’s National Academy and Law Enforcement Executive Development Seminar, Domagalski has worked in law enforcement since 1992. He has served as the chairman of the Wisconsin Police Executive Group and the chairman of the Wisconsin Law Enforcement Standards Board.

Nancy Hove is the president of the Wisconsin Sheriffs and Deputy Sheriffs Association and is the sheriff of Pierce County. A graduate of Hibbing (Minn.) Technical College, Hibbing Community College, and Chippewa Valley Technical College, Hove has worked in law enforcement since 1988. She also serves as secretary of the Badger State Sheriffs’ Association and as a member of the Law Enforcement Advisory Committee for DARE America.

Mark Podoll is the first vice president of the Badger State Sheriffs’ Association and is the sheriff of Green Lake County. A graduate of Fox Valley Technical College, Podoll has worked in law enforcement since 1982. He also serves as a member of the Education and Training Committee for the National Sheriffs’ Association and is a past president of the Green Lake Rotary Club.

Gerald Staniszewski is the chairman of the Wisconsin Police Executive Group and is the chief of police for the City of Eau Claire. A graduate of Mount Senario College and the FBI’s National Academy for Executive Development, Staniszewski has worked in law enforcement since 1991. He also serves as a member of the International Association of Chiefs of Police, as a member of the Eau Claire County Criminal Justice Collaborating Council, and on the executive board for the Chippewa Valley Council Boy Scouts of America.
