WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senator Tammy Baldwin today announced more than $1.3 million in emergency relief transportation funding to help repair roads and communities damaged by storms and severe flooding in July and August 2016. This announcement comes after Senator Baldwin sent two separate letters last year calling on the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) to make emergency relief funding available for the Wisconsin counties affected by significant flood damage.
“Last year, we saw torrential rain and severe flooding that damaged roads, bridges, homes and businesses in our communities in northern and western Wisconsin,” said Senator Baldwin. “I applaud the Department of Transportation for making additional emergency relief funding available so Wisconsin can re-build these communities and ensure our residents have access to safe transportation.”
Western Wisconsin: DOT released $836,816 in emergency relief transportation funding to help repair roads and bridges in Buffalo, Trempealeau and Eau Claire counties damaged by the August 2016 floods.
