Madison – Senator Bob Wirch (D-Kenosha) released the following statement in response to a federal three-judge panel finding the 2011 Republican drawn legislative maps must be redrawn by November 1:
“I am happy the federal court has again affirmed the partisan gerrymandering that went into drawing these maps. The Republican majority’s passing these unconstitutional maps has wasted millions of taxpayer dollars putting shameful politics ahead of the people’s will. I am hopeful that this time, Republicans have learned their lesson and will work in an open, transparent way to create new, fair maps.”
