Madison, WI — Senator Fred Risser (D-Madison) has been appointed to the Governor’s Steering Committee on Autonomous and Connected Vehicle Testing and Deployment.  The committee will advise the Governor and state agencies on how to best advance the testing and operation of autonomous and connected vehicles.

“I am pleased to be appointed to this committee and to help further the goal of advancing the safe and successful deployment of automated vehicles in Wisconsin.” Risser said.

The 20 member committee will study the controlled testing and operation of automated and connected vehicles in a variety of real-world driving conditions on roads within the state.  The committee will also review state statutes and administrative code, and coordinate with relevant state agencies and discuss how best to administer the testing and study of autonomous and connected vehicles on Wisconsin’s roads.
