Sen. Steve Nass (608) 266-2635
Senator Steve Nass (R-Whitewater) issued the following statement reiterating his intent to fight for middle class families in Wisconsin by standing with Governor Scott Walker in cutting UW System tuition by 5%, lowering property taxes by eliminating the state property tax (Forestry Property Tax) and opposing transportation tax increases:
“Governor Walker prioritized the economic plight of middle class families in the 2017-19 biennial budget. It has never been a Republican principle to raise taxes or increase tuition on families just because bureaucrats and special interests are demanding it. A bad budget is worse than no budget agreement by July 1st. Just like the Governor issuing veto threats to block a bad budget, the State Senate should not pass any budget that fails to reduce the burden of government on middle class families.”
