With their state benches depleted from staggering electoral losses, it’s no secret that Democrats are having trouble finding suitable 2018 gubernatorial candidates in states around the country. With top recruit Ron Kind taking a pass on the Wisconsin governor’s race, the only Democrat candidate who has declared so far is a 25 year old recent college graduate who lost a 2016 congressional primary…. in California.

The Associated Press reports:

“Recent Stanford University graduate Bob Harlow has returned to his native Wisconsin to mount a run for governor as a Democrat.

The 25-year-old tells The Associated Press on Tuesday that he’s been traveling the state and raising money to spread the word about his candidacy. Harlow is the only declared candidate for governor…

Harlow is working at his family’s woodworking business in Barneveld while he campaigns. Harlow ran for Congress in California last year and lost in the primary.”

Democrats in Wisconsin are having so much trouble finding a suitable candidate for governor in their state, they’ve had to resort to California also-rans barely out of college to lead their party. This does not bode well for their chances in 2018.
