MADISON – State Representative Leon Young (D-Milwaukee) per the request of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) will be reintroducing a bill on Racial Profiling.
My office has received a number of phone calls and complaints from constituents who were angry and upset because they were concerned about their civil rights being violated, based on race.
When Governor Walker first took office he repealed the State’s racial profiling collection requirement. According to Rep. Young, “I feel that people should not be pulled over by law enforcement, based on their race or skin color. I will once again reinstate a Racial Profiling bill in hopes of eradicating this type of bias behavior by the police department.
