Madison- State Representative David Steffen (R-Howard) issued the following statement inresponse to Governor Walker’s Budget Address Wednesday afternoon:

“Today, Governor Walker released his proposal for the 2017-19 biennial budget. I am encouraged by many of the priorities outlined in his address. Maintaining a strong commitment to education by investing in our schools, and focusing on workforce development and training in order to continue growing employment opportunities are vital steps to keep Wisconsin moving forward.

Over the next several months, I will be intensely working alongside my colleagues in thelegislature to continue crafting the biennial budget in order to ensure that our state’s spending plan makes the very best use of taxpayer dollars. As a part of this process, I strongly encourage my constituents to reach out to my office and to attend my office hours in order to ensure that their voices are heard as we develop the budget,” said Rep. Steffen.

Representative Steffen will be holding his first set of office hours jointly with Senator Rob Cowles (R-Green Bay) on Friday, February 17, 2017 from 3:30-7:00PM at the Ashwaubenon Village Hall located at 2155 Holmgren Way, Ashwaubenon, Wisconsin.
