MADISON – Governor Walker requested today that the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) review flood damage and meet with local and state officials in La Crosse and Trempealeau counties. This is an early step to kick start a process for homeowners, renters, and business owners to receive SBA federal low-interest loans to repair damage from July’s flooding. Representative Treig Pronschinske (Mondovi) released this statement following the Governor’s request:

“I thank the Governor for inviting national representatives to our neighborhoods in order to see what we’ve been dealing with. The home and business owners who have suffered damaged or destroyed property are doing all they can to get whole again, and we should be aiding their efforts.

“I fought to include $14.6 million in flood control grants in the state budget, and I was glad to see that my colleagues in the legislature accepted this proposal. I encourage my neighbors in Trempealeau and La Crosse counties, as well as officials from around the state, to continue to support those who were affected by July’s flooding during their long recovery.”
