Rep. Considine: Welcomes reporters to corrections tour

Madison – Late last week, Assembly Corrections Committee Chairman Rep. Michael Schraa (R-Oshkosh) prevented the press from attending the committee’s tour of the Lincoln Hills and Copper Lake facilities in Irma, Wisconsin.

Rep. Dave Considine (D-Baraboo), a member of the Corrections Committee, issued the following statement in response:

“I’m disappointed; I would have loved to have reporters come on the tour with us. There’s no place for secrecy and closed doors when we’re dealing with the safety of children, period. The citizens we represent deserve to know what’s happening at Lincoln Hills and Copper Lake just as much as we do.”
