Rep. Brandtjen- (608)267-2367

Madison- State Representative Janel Brandtjen (R- Menomonee Falls) today joined her Assembly colleagues in passing nine bills aimed at giving addicts and their families hope in their fight against opioid abuse. These bills are all part of Governor Walker’s Special Session on Opioid Abuse, called to combat the drug epidemic in the state.

“The opioid crisis in Wisconsin is one that effects every citizen, rural and urban alike.” Said Representative Brandtjen. “I’m thrilled to vote today to allow school personnel to administer lifesaving drugs to children, allocate money to means tested treatment programs, and give doctors more tools to combat this tragic epidemic. Adults and children alike from across this state suffer from heroin addiction, and it’s our job to get them the help they need.”

“This legislation goes a long way, but we all know more work still needs to be done. I’m looking forward to expanding on this bipartisan legislation to further combat this statewide problem” Representative Brandtjen said.
