Fitchburg- Rep. Anderson released the following statement regarding the elimination of the Labor & Industry Review Commission (LIRC). “The Labor & Industry Review Commission is a vital, independent agency that protects employers, employees and the state from fraudulent legal claims and potential abuses. But beyond these protections, LIRC saves the state of Wisconsin thousands of dollars by diverting unnecessary cases from our court system each year. It allows us to better invest tax dollars for the people of Wisconsin, instead of needless cases in state courts.”
When asked about the economic impact of LIRC on employers and employees in Wisconsin, Rep.Anderson stated: “The Labor & Industry Review Commission saves all those involved often the immeasurable time and money it costs to go to court. If employers and employees can be spared these expenses in dealing with false or abusive legal claims, it benefits everyone. Preserving LIRC is just common sense.”
