U.S. Rep. Mark Pocan blasted the “desperate” state Republican party for pushing a “false narrative” about the Dem party’s gubernatorial prospects in the race against Gov. Scott Walker next year.
And the Madison Dem told party activists with 17 months before the election, a “presidential campaign style death march” to Election Day wasn’t ideal.
Speaking to convention-goers in his home congressional district, Pocan also pledged that come next year, Walker would be “dead last in former governors in this state as well.”
“I am so excited about our prospects in 2018 I can barely contain it,” said Pocan, D-Madison, adding that he believes Dems can flip the U.S. House in 2018.
He also bashed the GOP for having “no new ideas, no good ideas and no concern for the average American,” citing the GOP health care bill that recently passed the House.
