Delavan, Wisconsin – Republican Paul Nehlen lambasted Speaker Ryan for Congress’s failure to repeal Obamacare, and called on the Speaker to step down in a Periscope video on Twitter Tuesday.

“I am calling on Paul Ryan to step down today,” said Nehlen. “Americans don’t trust Ryan to negotiate in good faith on the budget, or to build a wall on our southern border, or to defund Planned Parenthood.”

“For the last seven years in the House, Speaker Ryan has given us hollow promises. Now as Speaker, he is incapable of delivering the one policy achievement Americans expect of him — the repealing of Obamacare,” Nehlen said.

“Speaker Ryan’s Congress is the worst performing Congress in one hundred sixty years. “Ryan has proven time and again he doesn’t work on behalf of Wisconsin’s first district, American workers, American retirees, or American children. He works on behalf of his corporate donor class,” Nehlen explained, “and I have absolutely zero trust in Paul Ryan to do the right thing.”

“When President Trump says he wants to repeal and replace, I took that to mean free market reforms, HSAs, portability, selling across state lines, tax deductible personal plans, eliminating mandated coverage, repealing regulations that inhibit choice and competition,” Nehlen continued.

“Yet Paul Ryan delivered to Congress a cadaver that he expected President Trump to breathe life into,” he said. “That is unconscionable.”

“Republicans have both houses of Congress and the presidency, but we can’t repeal Obamacare. Are you kidding? Eight Democrats aren’t holding up Obamacare. I reject that claim, and so do the American people. Speaker Ryan’s GOP is keeping Obamacare in place.”

“Paul Ryan thinks he knows better than the American people. It’s a ridiculous notion,” Nehlen asserted. “Paul Ryan is funding everything that he funded with Obama in office, and America is sick of it,” concluded Nehlen.
