Madison, WI: Today, at 6:30 pm at the Goodman Community Center, the Dane County chapter of Our Wisconsin Revolution will hold a teach-in to highlight the threat to millions of Americans and hundreds of thousands of Wisconsinites from attacks on Medicaid and the Affordable Care Act, and the promise of single-payer “Improved Medicare for all” health insurance. Speakers include Prof. Thomas Oliver from the University of Wisconsin-Madison; Dr. Laurel Mark from Physicians for a National Health Program;  Kevin Kane, Organizing Director of Citizen Action-Wisconsin, and Jim Wrich from OWR.

Our Wisconsin Revolution is just coming off its founding convention, held last weekend at Stevens Point, with an elected board and a platform ratified by attending members. Pushing toward a national single-payer plan is part of the platform; OWR joins organizations and legislators across the country in calling not just to resist the current attempt to deprive over 20 million Americans of health insurance and millions more of plans that cover essential health benefits but to fight for something better.

The Goodman Center is located at 149 Waubesa Street in Madison.
