MADISON, Wis. — One Wisconsin Now Research Director Jenni Dye released the following statements on the latest revelations about the sleazy deal between school privatization supporters John Humphries and Lowell Holtz.

“Every new revelation about these shady negotiations to use taxpayer dollars to buy support for their campaigns raises more questions about both Holtz and Humphries.

“The ethical thing for Humphries to do would have been to alert the public to this attempted payoff as soon as Holtz offered it. Instead, he went home and drafted his own taxpayer-funded proposal to buy off Holtz.

“While many questions remain unanswered, one thing is clear – both Holtz and Humphries will keep putting their own political ambitions before what is best for Wisconsin kids.

“At this point, no one needed a press conference to know Holtz & Humphries aren’t being honest. They’ve flipped their positions on everything from common core to school funding, so it’s no surprise they won’t tell the whole truth about their backroom deal.”

Yesterday One Wisconsin Now filed a formal complaint regarding the attempted $500,000 election bribe. See link to press release and complaint at http://onewi.org/2lo54AN.
