Milwaukee Mayor Barrett to announce child safety gun lock distribution effort

MILWAUKEE – Mayor Tom Barrett will be joined by elected officials and community partners in announcing the distribution of child safety gun locks to promote responsible firearm ownership and safe storage.

In light of events in 2016 involving children getting access to guns stored in their homes, the Office of Violence Prevention received a supply of 300 child safety gun locks to distribute to Milwaukee families.

The gun locks will be provided to individuals who request them at Keenan Health Center (3200 North 36^th Street), North West Health Center (7630 West Mill Road) and Southside Health Center (1639 South 23^rd Street).
