MILWAUKEE – The president of the National Association of Counties (NACo) has appointed Milwaukee County Supervisor David L. Sartori to two leadership posts in the organization, which unites 3,069 county governments across America.

“I’m honored to represent Milwaukee County as part of the leadership team of the National Association of Counties,” said Sartori. “My experience as a decorated combat veteran and 30 year parole officer in Wisconsin’s only urban county will help advance NACo’s mission and support our efforts here in Milwaukee County.”

NACo President Roy Charles Brooks appointed Supervisor Sartori to the Large Urban County Caucus and the Veterans and Military Service Committee. Both appointments are one-year, renewable terms that run from August 2017 through July 2018.

The Large Urban County Caucus is the premier forum for urban county leaders and is the voice for America’s metropolitan counties before Congress and the Administration. Milwaukee County Executive Chris Abele serves as the vice chair of the caucus.

The Veterans and Military Service Committee engages NACo and its members to develop and highlight county best practices and policies to promote innovative programs, services and benefits for our nation’s military, and for veterans and their families.

Founded in 1935, NACo brings county officials together to advocate with a collective voice on national policy, exchange ideas and build new leadership skills, pursue transformational county solutions, enrich the public’s understanding of county government, and exercise exemplary leadership in public service.
