On behalf of MMAC and its member companies, I salute the State Senate for the vision they showed today by passing legislation necessary to bring Foxconn’s transformational investment of jobs and capital to Wisconsin.
Foxconn is committing to create an entirely new industry here – an industry that simply does not exist in the U.S. today. Creating this new industry here will mean that as many as 150 Foxconn suppliers will also locate or expand operations near the new Foxconn campus – creating thousands of additional job and career opportunities. The opportunity that this injection of economic growth will provide for our families and the generations to come is incredibly powerful. Wisconsin would stand at the epicenter of the evolving digital world.
We commend the state Senate for their thoughtful consideration of this legislation and the positive modifications they have made to appropriately manage the risks involved in this partnership with Foxconn while embracing this opportunity for all of Wisconsin.
