Former Dane County Executive Kathleen Falk has publicly endorsed Jill Karofsky for Dane County judge. The non-partisan election will be April 4, 2017.

As County Executive, Falk was an early leader in criminal justice reform. She initiated a number of groundbreaking reforms in Dane County including improved efficiencies in the courts and reduced delays, targeted programs for people with mental illness, expanded drug treatment court, and she created a unique program for repeat drunk drivers that significantly reduced re-offending.

“Jill Karofsky shares my commitment to effective criminal justice reform,” Falk said. “Her courage and her deep knowledge of how courts work, and how they can work better, will make a difference in helping reduce racial disparity, improve public safety, and ensure equity and fairness for everyone in the court system.”

“Kathleen Falk is a great role model because of her leadership, vision, and ability to bring people together to make change happen,” Attorney Karofsky said. “I am honored to have earned her support.”

Attorney Karofsky has earned the public endorsement of more than 600 attorneys, elected officials, labor stalwarts including Madison Teachers, Inc., and community leaders. The list includes over 40 judges, including 23 current and former Dane County judges. A current list can be found at www.jillkarofskyforjudge.com.
