MILWAUKEE – Join IBEW Local 494 and as they celebrate and honor members with years of service pins at the Labor Day Brat Fry. In 2017, IBEW will honor 145 members for their 50 years or more of service, as well as two members who have been members of IBEW Local 494 for more than seventy years.

“This is a great event for the IBEW to come together to celebrate and honor our members for their years of service,” said Dean Warsh, Business Manager of IBEW Local 494. “The longevity and dedication of those being honored is a testament to the quality of our membership,” Warsh said.

International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 494 was formed in June of 1906 and chartered on May 11, 1911. IBEW Local 494 is a labor union representing approximately 2400 members. It represents workers in construction, manufacturing, municipal, and maintenance workers.  IBEW Local 494 conducts apprenticeship programs.  It also offers continuing education classes for its members. IBEW Local 494 promotes better wages, working conditions and safety for its members and non-members working in the electrical industry.

IBEW Local 494 will be there as the demand for highly skilled and qualified electrical workers rises in our area, to lead the way providing a work force with livable wages and benefits. IBEW Local 494 and its members have been a part of many notable projects such as Miller Park, The Moderne, Northwestern Mutual and many others.

IBEW Local 494 serves: Milwaukee, Waukesha, Washington, Ozaukee, Fond du Lac and Sheboygan Counties.
