Holy Apostles, St. Luke, and St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parishes Invite Citizens of Waukesha County:
To learn about how mass incarceration impacts people in Milwaukee’s 53206 zip code.

St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish will host a showing of 53206 Milwaukee, a documentary that chronicles the lives of those affected by incarceration in America’s most incarcerated zip code.  Guests will be able to meet and ask questions of Beverly Walker and Dennis Walton, who are featured in the film.  Because Wisconsin’s parole system has nearly shut down, Ms. Walker’s husband, Baron Walker, has been “stuck” in prison for several years longer than his sentencing judge intended.  He is one of nearly 3,000 inmates in Wisconsin who were sentenced before Truth-In-Sentencing legislation who wait in limbo, seeming lost and forgotten in the system.  The film not only examines Milwaukee’s zip code 53206, but also illuminates the story of people from across the United States who live with the daily effects of mass incarceration.  Admission is free – donations are encouraged to offset expenses.
