WAUWATOSA, WI—Julie Henszey, a corporate trainer, executive coach, and outdoor adventure guide who lives in Wauwatosa, announced today that she will be a candidate for the Wisconsin State Senate in the 5th District, to represent parts of Milwaukee and Waukesha Counties.

A former Iowa farm girl, Julie brought her young family to Wisconsin in 1995. She worked as a librarian and trainer for Marquette University for almost two decades before starting her own business. Now, she is devoting herself full-time to her campaign for State Senate District 5.

Julie currently serves on leadership teams with Indivisible and Citizen Action of Wisconsin. She has a bachelor’s degree from Luther College and a master’s degree from the University of Illinois, and was a Fulbright Scholar at the University of Iceland.

In the Senate, Julie intends to be an inclusive leader who embraces diversity and sees value in all voices. She will fight for everyone to have access to affordable healthcare. She will vote to protect the environment with clean air and water for all.

And she will focus on job creation that leads down a road to prosperity for all, supporting small businesses and a strong public education system. That especially includes more funding for locally-led public K-12 schools and world-class public university, community college, and technical college systems accessible to every Wisconsinite.

Julie is married to Michael, and they have two grown children. Julie’s campaign can be found on the web at JulieForWI.com, and on social media channels @julieforwi.
