Milton – A top priority for Governor Scott Walker as he continues to move Wisconsin forward is student success. That’s why his 2017-2019 biennial budget proposal includes historic investments in K-12 education, including $649 million in new state aids for all K-12 schools in Wisconsin. His proposal additionally lifts K-12 investment to $11.5 billion over two years, an all-time high. To highlight the significant impact these education investments will have on the Milton School District, Governor Walker traveled to Milton High School today, where he met with students, teachers, and administrators.

“As I travel throughout Wisconsin, I consistently hear from parents, teachers, lawmakers, community leaders, and business owners that they want us to invest in our students,” Governor Walker said. “And we agree! Investing in K-12 education is common sense because ensuring student success – both in and outside the classroom – means we’re guaranteeing the future success of our state. Our budget proposal continues to move Wisconsin forward by focusing on the quality of education we’re providing our children as well as the resources we’re making available to them as they pursue their career paths.”

The School District of Milton is estimated to receive $47.2 million in funding from the state under Governor Walker’s biennial budget, including:

  • An increase of $2,100,108 in Per Pupil Aid. The Governor’s budget proposal provides the largest increase in per pupil funding since the 2005-2007 biennium, increasing funds by $200 per pupil in Fiscal Year 2018 and $204 per pupil in Fiscal Year 2019.

The School District of Milton may also be eligible for further funding under Governor Walker’s budget proposal, such as mental health grants, energy efficiency incentives, and special needs grants.
