Elections Commission warns clerks about proposed budget changes

The state Elections Commission today warned local clerks the guv's budget proposal would have "significant impacts on critical services" the agency provides such as delays in reviewing nomination papers.
Federal funds through the Help America Vote Act now cover 22 of the agency's 31.75 full-time-equivalent positions, according to the memo. Those funds will be depleted after July 1, 2018.
