MADISON – Businesses or individuals interested in learning about exporting documents available through the Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection (DATCP) are invited to register for a free webinar at which requirements and processes for obtaining the documents will be reviewed by agency staff.

The webinar, “DATCP Exporting Documents: Certificates of Free Sale, Phytosanitary Certificates & More,” will be held Friday, Sept. 221:30-2:30 p.m. Registration is required.

Certificates of free sale and other export documents such as phytosanitary certificates are often requested by an importing state or nation. Generally, the documents certify that the specified imported goods or products are normally and freely sold in the exporting country or state’s open markets and are approved for export. They also often attest to the animal or plant health, product safety, production, processing methods, or sanitation of the processing plant or originating grower or manufacturer.

Webinar speakers include: Emmy Nagamachi, Financial Specialist, Division of Food and Recreational Safety, DATCP; Greg Helmbrecht, Seed Field Inspection Program, Division of Agricultural Resource Management, DATCP; and Heather Bartley, Feed Program Specialist, Division of Agricultural Resource Management.

The webinar is the first in a series of free webinars ranging from export document requirements to shipping regulations to the logistics of transporting livestock and other products internationally that will be hosted by DATCP’s Wisconsin International Agribusiness Center in coming months.

The Center, part of DATCP’s Division of Agricultural Development, works to help Wisconsin farms and agribusinesses start or improve their international sales through exporter education and technical assistance.
