(Brown County, Wis.) – Brown County Executive Troy Streckenbach unveiled his 2018
budget proposal to department heads and County Supervisors at the Neville Public
Museum on Friday.

“We’re making the investments needed to help shape our future while addressing
ongoing problems as the County prepares to enter the next 200 years of prosperity,”
says Streckenbach.

As Brown County begins to celebrate its 200 th Anniversary, this proposed budget lays
the foundation for the future of Brown County through the implementation of the debt
reduction and infrastructure improvements, along with the property tax cut plan passed
earlier this year.

“Our total value as a County is well over $20 billion, which enables us to make needed
investments in our County while keeping the tax rate low,” Streckenbach says. “It should
come as no surprise that this will be my 5 th proposed tax cut. With equalized growth rate
of 5.23%, or almost $1 billion, I will be able to deliver a 1% tax rate cut, while
addressing a number of operational and community issues.”

Some financial statistics of the proposed 2018 Brown County Budget include:
