Madison, Wisconsin – Americans for Prosperity-Wisconsin today praised six members of the Assembly Committee on Labor for voting in favor of AB 499, the Mining for America Act, in a crucial committee vote yesterday. The bill now advances to the full Assembly for a vote where AFP-WI activists are encouraging lawmakers to approve it swiftly. The free-market activist group also announced it will begin running digital ads to encourage lawmakers to vote ‘Yes’ on the legislation. The digital ads will complement AFP-WI’s ongoing statewide phone-banking and other grassroots efforts.

Americans for Prosperity-Wisconsin State Director Eric Bott made the following statement:

“On behalf of AFP-WI’s base of over 130,000 grassroots activists, we thank Chairman Kulp, Vice Chairman Kuglitsch and Representatives Knodl, Schraa, Quinn and Spiros for voting to bring good-paying jobs to Central and Northern Wisconsin while maintaining robust environmental standards. This legislation will allow Wisconsinites to responsibly develop our abundant natural resources and generate more revenue for our schools and community needs. AFP-WI activists will continue to work around the clock to push this job-creating legislation over the finish line.”
