MADISON, WI – Americans for Prosperity-Wisconsin today praised Assembly Majority Leader Jim Steineke and the Assembly for passing AB 384, also known as the regulatory “sunset” bill, legislation that would require government rules to be carefully reviewed and readopted every seven years. The activist group called on the state Senate to pass the measure swiftly to provide entrepreneurs with regulatory relief and reform.

“From the signing of the REINS Act to the exclusion of new red tape from the state budget, 2017 will be remembered as a banner year for regulatory reform in the Badger State,” said Americans for Prosperity-Wisconsin State Director Eric Bott. “Wisconsin is once again leading the way as a model for the nation in reforming outdated, job-killing regulations. Regulatory relief, especially for small businesses and entrepreneurs, has long been a top priority for AFP-WI’s base of over 130,000 grassroots activists. They are pleased that lawmakers are closing out the year with such a strong emphasis on regulatory reform. AFP-WI will continue its efforts to pass this important legislation so Wisconsin can be an even better place to do business in 2018. Majority Leader Steineke and Senator Darling deserve credit for their vision on this bill.”
